Investigating Audio

Diegetic and Non-Diegetic sounds

Diegetic: A diegetic sound is any kind of sound that originates from the source of the video or film weather that being a person speaking or a sound of an object falling to the ground.

Non-Diegetic: A non-diegetic sound is a sound that does not originate from within the source video or film but rather a sound or effect that is added in post-recording for example sound effects or soundtracks.

Here is a clip where I get my Steam Controller and show it off while clicking the buttons to hear the audible clicks and sounds.

Voice/Audio Effects

On the 04.02.2021 I used Adobe Audition to create Voice/Audio effects with three audio files I was given for the task.

The first one was a basic Speech volume leveler with an FTT filter to better help the audio recording by filtering background audio and finally I added the Full Reverb effect to add reverb to the audio or make it more crisp and dry.

A screenshot of this can be found below as well as a download link to the file for you to listen to.

The second task was to use the first three effects and use it combined with pitch effects in Adobe Audition.

A screenshot example can be found below as well as a link to the file for you to listen to.

The third and final task was to create an echo and delay effect with on of the three pieces of audio we were given to use in Adobe Audition.

A screenshot of this and audio file of this work can be found below.
